Izone

At over 180ha it is one of the largest industrial parks in New Zealand and is already home to 25 businesses including The Warehouse, Westland Milk Products, Solid Energy and PGG Wrightson.

R D Hughes Developments Limited (RDH) has a seven-year history with the project and is contracted to perform in the capacity of CEO through to 2014. RDH is therefore the commercial face for the project and is responsible for the day-to-day management, including sales and marketing, site development, and strategic planning.

Selwyn District Council (SDC) owns the land and funds the development. Selwyn is the second fastest growing district in New Zealand. At last census it had a population of approximately 35,000. Importantly SDC has an excellent balance sheet; net assets were $831m as of 30/06/09.

Izone has been structured to combine the skills and resources of the public and private sectors.

The outcome is a commercially driven project backed with the financial strengths of a progressive and forward thinking local body.
